Anything by Dan Abnett is also a safe bet. I didn't like the later two books as much as I did the first one. I think the extreme time-jumps played a part in that. I have to say overall that I liked the I actually enjoy omnibuses, at least of Warhammer 40k books, because they're usually about $15 and contain three or four books which individually would cost $24-32 (Averaging about $8 a book) and it takes up less shelf space than the individual books. Overall, I think the Eisenhorn novels are a good read, even for those who are not into Warhammer 40K. This is an omnibus, written small, and contains a complete series. I finished reading the entire Eisenhorn omnibus, which consists of Malleus and Hereticus as well as Xenos , which I already discussed. Eisenhorn: Malleus & Hereticus by Dan Abnett posted on the Books discussion board by Werthead. I was inspired by the slight derailment of the Star Wars EU thread when we started talking about Warhammer 40K novels, so I'll make a new one just for that topic. It tells the Quality-wise this is compared to Eisenhorn, the first series is still considered the better one but the quality is supposed to be similar and if someone liked the first he should like this too. Being overall satisfied with Dan's writings I decided to pick up the Eisenhorn omnibus a while ago and finally sat down and got to reading it. Other great books are the Eisenhorn, Ravenor, and Grey Knights Omnibus. The great majority of this supposed quality comes from a particular writer who consolidated as the main pillar of the whole Black Library, and so of the Warhammer 40k universe in literary form: Dan Abnett.
